Festival Season

Summer is definitely on its way and most Aussies know what this means Festival Season! The Australian culture is obsessed with music festivals, so to gain the full experience of this amazing country you must attend.

Scorching hot sun, carefree dancing, good mates, great music and a few drinks are definitely on the top of our agenda.

Last weekends Parklife festival in Brisbane’s Botanical Gardens was a succuss with thousands of people attending. The event sure did amaze audiences with an international, all star line-up consisting of some of the most cutting edge electro/hip-hop/breaks/house and progressive artists to come to town.

For those less fit festival addicts there is always the option of parking you but in the one spot all day and some decided to do just that. Many set up camp on the hill by the main stage and just chilled out for the day on an old blanket with some good friend, soaking up the sounds without having to do a marathon around the entire venue.

The crowd got into it by dressing the part. Group of friends got together and played fancy dress with Fluoro attire, school kid outfits, cowgirl crews and many more. Sweat bullets dripped off everyone as great music pumped from the four different stages. Things really heated up as the sun went down because everyone was so pumped to see the main acts that were due to come out at night. Big screens with colourful lazar effects got everyone in the mood to party and dance the night away.

The Earth, River, Fire and Air stages were sure to rock anyone’s socks off with the likes of Cajuan from Germany, Justice from France, Riot in Belgium, Ajax, M.I.A, Shapeshifters and many more, it was truly a day to remember. Having so much talent at the one venue is what Aussie froth over.

Before you set out on your festival journey be sure you and your friend make a spot to meet if someone gets lost. It happens every time so be prepared.

Do: wear sun cream, eat breakfast and party safe.

Don’t bring a bad attitude, alcohol, drugs, weapons or audio/video recording equipment.

If the big day is not enough, most clubs in Brisbane partied on till the next day. Pretty much every club I the valley was totally packed, The Stafford Brothers rocked the house at Monastery and instead of getting home most people got a unit for the whole weekend.

The Australia way of life is extremely carefree, we Aussies are just out for a good time. There were plenty of police but not one arrest or violently ill people curled over on the side of the path. So join in the fun and make sure you attend the next festival, Summer Field Dayze. Tickets go on sale tomorrow at www.mytickets.com.au.

See you in the mix.
